Program
1st Day:
Departure at the crack of dawn from your Resort in Watamu or Malindi by Jeep 4×4 towards Tsavo East National Park.
You will arrive at the entrance of the Park at Sala Gate after about 2 hours of asphalt road and breathtaking views.
Once you arrive at the Gate and complete the entry formalities, you will enter the Park.
From the beginning you will be able to see many wild animals in their natural habitat such as elephants, zebras, antelopes, etc…
You will travel along the Galana River (one of the three largest rivers in Kenya) towards Satao Camp (where you will stay for these two days).
On the way you will stop at Hippo Point to see hippos up close. (The source of this river is the plateau in the south-eastern part of Kenya and flows through the national park and empties into the Indian Ocean. On a visit to the Galana River, you can see hippos in their natural habitat while exploring the beauty of Tsavo East National Park) and Lugard Falls for a beautiful view (This attraction features rock patterns of cooled lava. The falls are named after Lord Fredrick Lugard as he passed through the region. The rapids were formed as a result of the interruption of the river flow by channels and carved rocks. At the bottom of the falls, wild species of buffalo, hippos and crocodiles can be seen in the pool formed at the bottom of the falls.)
Arrive at Satao Camp for lunch time, where you will check in with room assignments, lunch and some relax.
While waiting for the afternoon Game Driver you can enjoy relaxing by watching the animals drinking from the waterhole, from the observation tower available to guests.
In the afternoon, go out until late afternoon for the Game Driver in search of the wild animals that live in the National Park, including the big cats.
The sunset over the plains of Tsavo is a sight to behold and the “sunset” experience is a must for all our guests.
At the end of a leisurely game drive in the late afternoon, you will be taken to a special place for a pre-dinner sundowner.
The fire is lit, delicious snacks are served and chilled sparkling wine and the famous “dawa” cocktails are poured.
Sit back and relax and watch the sun slip behind the hills of Sagala and listen to the sounds of the wild.
It is a unique experience that you will cherish forever.
(For aspiring photographers, the hour before sunset is blessed with what professionals call “magic light”: a moment of soft golden light that highlights Kenya’s wildlife.)
At the end of this magnificent experience, return to camp for dinner and overnight.
2nd Day:
Wake up early in the morning, have a quick coffee and off you go… first Game Driver of the morning, to see the sunrise over the savannah and, if lucky, at the best time to witness a hunting scene.
Return to camp for breakfast and check-out.
Depart for the second Game Drive of the morning towards Voi Gate and the western part of the Park and then reach Mudanda Rock, where surrounded by beautiful scenery, you will admire the nature that surrounds you (this rock stands out from the rest of the national park and is located near Manyani Gate in Tsavo East National Park, during the dry season, wildlife species gather around the basin near the stratified rock, which makes it easy to see the various wildlife species that drink from the basin).
At the end of the visit, you will head back to the center of the National Park at the Aruba Ashnil Lodge where lunch is planned.
After lunch, your safari continues inside the Tsavo East National Park, with a different route from the previous ones, in search of animals and discovering new places in the wonderful Tsavo East National Park, until arriving again towards sunset, at the Sala Gate to exit the Park and return to your Resort in Watamu or Malindi, in time for a refreshing shower and dinner.
This safari, with a variation in the itinerary chronology, can start from Mombasa even before your beach stay in your Resort.
