A particular safari because the Ngutuni Private Reserve, surrounded on three sides by the Tsavo East National Park, is dedicated to very demanding travelers, as it offers the possibility of making the so-called “off-piste” and also the Night Safari.
The peculiarity of this Private Reserve consists in the fact that there are no pre-established paths, and it is therefore possible to enter the greenery at will to follow the traces left by the big cats.
In Ngutuni you can also make night safaris, so you can admire the animals during the hunt, while it is absolutely forbidden to make night safaris in the National Parks.
In the Reserve there are an incredible variety of animals, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes and giraffes.

We will leave the villages behind to arrive at the Tsavo East National Park Gate.
Arriving at the Gate and after completing the entry formalities, the morning safari will begin in search of the big cats, very numerous in Tsavo East National Park together with elephants.
Wonderful sceneries with doum palms on the banks of seasonal rivers and animals that go there in the late morning in search of some refreshment, you will begin to spot antelopes, baboons, hyenas, eagles and hawks, elephants, zebras, giraffes, etc. until you reach, crossing the park, the VOI GATE the exit of the park opposite our entrance.
Leaving Tsavo East National Park we head towards the Ngutuni Private Reserve and the Lodge where we will stay on this safari. Arrived at the Ngutuni Safari Lodge, located in the center of the Reserve, check-in and assignment of the rooms, lunch, with a splendid view of the animals, in the restaurant of the Lodge.
While waiting for the afternoon exit, you can safely relax in your accommodation, in the splendid new swimming pool or on the terrace watching the animals cool off in the pool in front of the Lodge.

After dinner Night Game Drive in search of hunting cats, return to the Lodge for the night.
Overnight in the room.
SECOND DAY OF SAFARI
Wake up early in the morning, a quick coffee and departure to see the sunrise inside the Reserve and in search of felines.
Return to the Lodge for a hearty breakfast, check-out and departure for another immersion in nature and the savannah, returning to Tsavo East National Park towards Mudanda Rock, where we will arrive around lunchtime.
For lunch a Pic Nic (prepared by the chefs of NGUTUNI SAFARI LODGE) is organized in Mudanda Rock.
In the afternoon, after lunch and with all the necessary calm, the Game Driver continues towards Lugard’s Falls and the Yatta Plateau.
After the waterfalls the safari continues along the Galana river stopping at some panoramic points to better see the fauna that lives there including the Nile Crocodiles and Hippos (at Hippo Point), we will arrive at the exit of the Park from which we entered, Towards evening.
From there the way back to the starting point arriving in time for dinner.
- HIPPO POINT
The source of this river is the highlands in the southeastern part of Kenya and flows through the national park and into the Indian Ocean. On a visit to the Galana River, you can also see hippos as you explore the beauty of Tsavo East National Park. - LUGARD’S WATERFALLS
This attraction is characterized by rock patterns of cooled lava.
The falls were named after Lord Fredrick Lugard as he made his way through the region. The rapids were formed as a result of the interruption of the flow of the river by channels and carved rocks. At the bottom of the falls, you can see wild species of buffaloes and hippos and crocodiles in the pool formed at the bottom of the falls. - MUDANDA ROCK
This rock stands out from the rest of the national park and is located near the Manyani gate in Tsavo East National Park.
During the dry season, wildlife species congregate around the catchment area near the layered rock, which makes it easy to see the various species of wildlife drinking in the catchment.
